Spacer Robotics is a San Francisco-based deep tech startup that develops autonomous, AI-driven robots to automate heavy, repetitive construction tasks. Founded in 2025 by Tesla and Nuro veteran Lesya Hendrix, the company operates with a phased product roadmap split into three major technological generations. Their first generation focuses on foundation work like data center construction, led by a 90-pound autonomous rebar-tying robot named GRID that executes 5,000 steel wire ties per shift. The data collected by these initial units in the field directly trains the physical AI models powering their second generation, a semi-humanoid robot platform named Andromeda designed for complex jobsites without Wi-Fi or GPS supervision.
Looking further ahead, their third generation aims to scale this physical AI from Earth into space, engineering robots to build orbital structures, solar grids, and base habitats on the Moon. Operating with a lean team in San Francisco, the startup targets the global construction market with an immediate focus on heavy commercial environments to minimize human exposure to injury risks.
